The Government of Nuevo León, in collaboration with the municipality of Escobedo, has launched the second intramunicipal route of an estimated total of five, to cover areas lacking public transport service in the city. These routes are expected to benefit more than 100 neighborhoods and around 500,000 people.
In this initiative, it is planned to implement a total of 25 units, five for each route, equipped with air conditioning, wifi, security cameras connected to the Tamaulipas Intelligence Center and the C5, and an emergency button on board. The goal is to improve mobility in the northwestern area of the municipality and connect users with other mass transport systems, to reduce travel times.
The governor mentioned that in the fourth year of government, it is expected to renew approximately 90% of the buses, adding the 3,740 new buses along with the TransMetros and Metro lines. He emphasized the importance of coordination among all political actors to enhance the quality of life for the inhabitants of Nuevo León.
During the launch of the second intramunicipal route in Escobedo, it was reported that the first 30 units of a total of 1,600 new buses that will arrive are being put into operation, reaching a total of 3,740 by October of this year. Despite criticisms regarding potential debt, the governor assured that every peso is justified in the 2025 Fiscal Package. This package is expected to provide the necessary budget for the execution of important works in the region.
Lastly, the governor urged the deputies and local authorities to work in unity to advance this package and ensure a prosperous future for Nuevo León, emphasizing the importance of coordination and collaboration at a time when the economy is affected by various factors.
